RRIFs

Registered Retirement Income Funds

When you're ready to convert your RRSP savings to income, you're dealing with a financial product which becomes you're own personal pension plan.

Registered Retirement Income Funds (RRIFs) provide income from your RRSP while sheltering the balance from taxation.

Up to $1,000 in payments per year qualify for the pension income tax credit if you are 65 or older. You cannot contribute directly to a RRIF, but funds can be transferred from an RRSP, another RRIF or a Registered Pension Plan.
